Looking back on my goals
Today I am to look back on goals that set for myself in the beginning of the year. I guess the first of these goals was to practice more and become more comfortable with learning a script. One of the biggest things I have wrong I think is that I often times make speeches that I am not comfortable with. I write speeches like my essays which, sure, ends up being similar to how I speak, but it is still quite different than my interesting, conversational voice. That kind of writing will only come in use when I do my persuasive speech, but for other purposes I just write too formally and I can never quite learn my speech because of the styling of it. With my informative, most of what I said was added. None of it was false but they were all things that I had learned while pa-roosing the internet looking for credible sources to include. Even though I had not written or sourced some of these facts, it still seemed natrual and more conversational to add them in. So, in that respect, I think that with this most recent speech I have come one step closer to my personal goal for speech class.
