School laptops

I think that the school laptops are a complete waste of time. Well, allow me to start from the beginning, I am very, VERY opinionated about this (obviously, it was my day to choose the topic). When I heard that the school would be implementing a one-to-one system of laptops, I simply rejoiced. I knew right then that the next year would be completely experimental and that, given time, the process would work out its own kinks. I thought that by the second semester I would be learning on cyber level in all my classes. However, my dreams were crushed when the coolest and most fun part of having a laptop was literally squeezed dry by my friend, St. Bernard filtering system. Imagine trying to search for information on my favorite actor, Jack Black, when the website containing everything I would need for my research was utterly denied entry into my laptop. I had to change my topic because, meaning the laptop actually hindered my learning instead of supplementing it. Imagine that. Now all the work over the summer and the pay cuts and the complicated protocols involved are completely wasted because ONE PERSON needed to have a little extra contol. My favorite music site is even blocked OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL! WHY!?! Ah man I am done, getting way too worked up about this. Not only that but I am running out of time to write and if I continue I will be obligated to finish before posting it. Basically, computers are a good idea to have, but when it came down to managing the school simply fell short. It was just too big of a project and the smallest detail ruined it for me.

By the way, Mrs. Bauermeister, you need to give us more time to write if you are going to expand the amount we have to write.

  1. Will do. Glad to find something you have so much passion for. Pretty sure editorial writer should be in your future. Either that or a lobbyist. You could exhibit that passion for whatever group offered to pay you the most.
